Silverton’s current OCP and Zoning Bylaw were written over a decade ago. Since then, our community has changed. Feel free to review the existing planning framework for the Village of Silverton to see what you would change. We look forward to hearing from you.

The Village of Silverton would like to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to participate in the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw Update survey, attend the Public Open House, or share comments, questions, ideas, and concerns throughout the engagement process.

Your input is an important part of shaping Silverton’s future. Whether you filled out a survey, wrote on a comment sheet, submitted a comment card, joined a conversation, or simply took time to learn more about the project, your participation helps ensure this update reflects the needs, values, and hopes of the community.

Silverton may be small, but your voice matters. Thank you for helping guide this important work.

While the formal engagement period has now closed, anyone who still wishes to share additional comments may email the Village  info@silverton.ca.

This project will happen in clear, public stages:

Project schedule (high level)

• Phase 1 — Launch & Early Input (Now – March 2026): Learn about the project, share priorities, complete the survey, and statutory consultations.
• Phase 2 — Community Open House (Thurs April 30, 2026): In-person drop-in event to review themes and talk with the project team.
• Phase 3 — Draft Directions (May – June 2026): We’ll share what we heard and explore options (housing, land use, village character, lakefront, etc.).
• Phase 4 — Draft OCP & Zoning (June 2026): Draft documents published for community review.
• Phase 5 — Review & Adoption (July/August 2026): Final revisions, Council consideration, and required public hearing(s).
