2026 General Municipal Elections for Silverton

This fall, the voters of Silverton will be electing a Mayor and four Councillors to guide the Village for the coming term. 

KEY DATES:

Nomination Period: Tuesday, September 1, 2026 - Friday, September 11, 2026
Advance Poll:     Wednesday, September 7, 2026
8am-8pm at Memorial Hall, 203 Lake Ave. Silverton, BC. V0G 1S0
General Voting:     Saturday, September 17, 2026
8am-8pm at Memorial Hall, 203 Lake Ave. Silverton, BC. V0G 1S0

NOTE: Mail ballot voting is available if you can't attend either voting day.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR VOTERS:

Resident Electors

If you reside in Silverton and meet the following qualifications, you are entitled to vote as a Resident Elector:

  • a Canadian citizen;
  • 18 or older;
  • a B.C. resident for the past six months, and
  • not disqualified from voting. 

 

If you are a resident of Silverton and already on the Provincial Voters List you are automatically registered to vote in the upcoming Municipal and School Board elections. 

Voter registration for qualified Resident Electors who aren't on the Provincial Voters List will be available at the polling station on voting days, or in conjunction with mail ballot voting.

Non-Resident Property Electors:

If you believe you are a qualified Non-Resident Property Elector (NRPE) you can contact the Village to determine if you are on the NRPE Register or if you need to complete the registration process in order to vote in the upcoming Municipal and School Board elections. You may register as a NRPE through Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Village Office. If you miss the deadline, please contact the Chief Election Officer. 

Voter registration for Non-Resident Property Electors will also be available at the polling station on voting days, or in conjunction with mail ballot voting.
